Evolution door, what an invention!

Austrian artist Klemens Torggler has reinvented the door with his latest project.

Called the Evolution Door, the 4-panel door opens and closes elegantly as though it's made of pieces of paper.
Torggler has a few variations on this door, one with the origami-esque triangles that fold out to help the door move, and another system with rods that rotate two square panels.
Currently the door is a prototype, and comes in a glass, steel, and wood version.

Downtown Mexico

A wonderful example of an alliance between the old and the contemporary. The renovation of this hotel in the heart of Mexico City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was perfectly orchestrated by local designers. Industrial elegance blends elements of colonial and indigenous culture, from the bohemian chic rooms, to the lush garden patio and immense rooftop terrace. Everything I like!
